Rui De Sousa

Pastor, New Life Alvik

Known for his passion for Jesus and people, especially kids, Pastor Rui functions as both the lead pastor of New Life Church, Alvik and co-leader of the New Life Stockholm network.
Rui has his roots in Angola, grew up in Portugal, came over to Stockholm for missions and settled in Sweden. He is married to Nanna whom he loves taking long walks with. They have four children.

Meet Our Daily Leadership team

The Daily Leadership Team consists of pastors and key leaders who together implement the vision and the development of it, on a daily basis, in the life of the church. They oversee all the different areas of ministry in the church.

Jae Sung Kim

youth pastor​

Jae is our youth and young adult’s pastor.  You can recognise him by his boisterous laughter. Together with a  group of fantastic voluntary leaders, Jae leads the youth and young adult’s ministry. Jae loves to hear what God is doing in people’s lives and see lives transformed by Jesus. He also enjoys reading the bible with others. Jae is married to Mira and have two children. Jae was once a decent basketball player, but today he enjoys playing golf.

Ike Ohajekwe

Lifegroup pastor​

As the Life Group pastor, he oversees the Life Group ministry, which creates diverse engaging environments where people can genuinely grow closer to Christ and connect with each other. Ike has a passion for personal development and leadership and is also educated in that area. Born and raised in Nigeria, he lives in Stockholm with his wife Carina. They have two children.

Hasse Persson

OutReach Pastor

Hasse is the oversight pastor of missions, evangelism, and social ministry. He is known for his big heart in ministering to the marginalized and down-trodden people of our world. He and his family have worked as missionaries in Portugal, Mozambique and South Africa. Hasse and his wife Sonia lives now in Stockholm with their four children.

Church Elders

The elders are responsible for the spiritual health of the church. Their main areas of responsibility are to lead the membership process, to support the members, and to lead the prayer ministry of the church making sure that every ministry receives prayer support.

Fredrik

Fredrik Widell

Fredrik is a devoted intercessor. He leads the corporate prayer and intercession ministry of the church and has been a life group leader for many years. He works as a postman and is married to Caroline. They live in stockholm and have three children.

Chris Barker

Chris is a biochemist and researcher originally from Yorkshire UK. He is interested in science, art, fiction, the prophetic, and their different combinations. He is married to Gillian and they love to play tennis together to keep fit. They are blessed with two daughters.
Sheila

Sheila Mustaq​

Sheila is a devoted mother and grandmother who passionately loves to help people in different ways, especially those in desperate needs. Sheila is the pastoral leader of the church’s Life groups and works as a psychiatric nurse in Stockholm.
Nara

Nara Bäckström

Nara has a big heart to see all Mongolians in Sweden and beyond come to Jesus. She is involved with the ministry of the language café, a ministry that aims to teach Swedish to non-Swedish speaking people. This ministry has seen many become followers of Jesus.

Sunny Ringholt

Sunny works as a resident tutor within the municipality of Stockholm and loves to improve people’s well-being through God’s Word and prayer. She is a devoted intercessor. Sunny likes walking and hiking in the countryside. She is married to Sivert and they live in Stockholm
Peter kopiera

Peter Thunberg

Peter has been involved almost since the beginning and has done all sorts of things in the congregation. Currently, his responsibilities include eldership, interpretation, and intercession. He prefers listening over talking, asking questions over debating, and a pun is always welcome. He works as a system administrator at a college in Stockholm.
